Terrain

  • The forest is predominantly covered with pine trees (Pinus pinaster). In some areas, you can find deciduous trees, such as chestnut (Castanea sativa) and oak (Quercus).
  • The terrain features moderate to steep climbs, and large areas of bare rock are present. Many rock formations, including boulders and cliffs, are found throughout. Please note that bare rock in February may be slippery, especially in wet conditions. Athletes are advised to take this into account when selecting footwear.
  • Some undergrowth and dense vegetation can frequently be encountered, particularly in the deeper valleys. Darker vegetation is typically impassable, consisting mainly of blackberry bushes (Rubus fruticosus). Genista (Genista cinerascens) is also very common in the region.
  • Runnability varies greatly, ranging from very easy to very difficult.
