ABOM 2025 Races & Results
There will be 4 races at ABOM 2025, as you can check in the Programme page.
- The PROLOGUE stage will not count for the ABOM 2025 overall FootO classification.
- The ABOM 2025 overall FootO classification will be calculated by adding the points from the LONG and MIDDLE stages
- The points for each stage will be calculated as follows: Points = (winner time / athlete time) * 1000
- The PreO competition will have a separate classification and prize-giving ceremony.
Elite Classes – Important Information
If we exceed 100 entries in the Elite Classes (highly likely in the MEN Elite class), we will split the class into Elite 1 and Elite 2 classes. To do this, we will use the PROLOGUE stage as a qualification race, as follows:
- Runners will be divided into 3 qualification heats. We will use the World Ranking to equally split the runners.
- The first 25 of each heat will secure a spot in the Elite 1 class. The remaining athletes will compete in the Elite 2 class.
- If an athlete wants to join the Elite 1 class, he/she needs to run the PROLOGUE stage and qualify in the TOP 25.
- If an Elite class exceeds 150 entries, we will increase the number of qualified athletes and equalise the number of Elite 1 and Elite 2 competitors as needed.
- The TOP 10 Athletes from Elite 2 in the WRE Long distance (Saturday) will be promoted to the Elite 1 on Sunday’s WRE Middle distance.
Start order:
- In the qualification competition (PROLOGUE), the start order is determined by the order of the World Ranking as published on 15th February 2025 (best ranked starting last).
- In the WRE Long distance, the starting order is determined by the order of the World Ranking as published on 15th February 2025 (best ranked starting last), irrespective of the results of the qualification race.
- In the WRE Middle distance, the starting order is determined by the results of the previous day’s Long distance (best placed starting last). Those who were promoted from the Elite 2 will start before the ones who ran Elite 1 on the Long distance.
