Courses – Technical Information

  • Printed maps on A4+ sheets, landscape orientation.
  • Refreshment points
    • There are several refreshment points spread across the terrain
    • These locations are marked on the map with symbol 713 Refreshment point.
    • A first aid station is marked on the map with symbol 712 First aid post. This location also serves as a refreshment point.
    • All refreshment points are located along paths.
    • Only water will be provided at the refreshment points, served in cups.
    • The T10, W12, M12, W75, and W80 courses do not have refreshment points.
    • In some areas of the map, there is a high density of control points. Athletes are reminded of the importance of verifying the code of each control.
  • The W Elite and M Elite 2 courses are divided into two parts:
    • Part 1 will be printed on the front of the sheet.
    • Part 2 will be printed on the back of the sheet.
    • At the start, athletes must ensure they are looking at Part 1 of the course.
  • The M Elite 1 course is divided into three parts:
    • Part 1 will be printed on the front of the sheet.
    • Parts 2 and 3 will be printed on the back of the sheet
      • Left side of the sheet: Part 2
      • Right side of the sheet: Part 3
    • At the start, athletes must ensure they are looking at Part 1 of the course.
  • Arena Passage:
    • The W Elite and M Elite 1 courses will include a passage through the arena during the race.
    • These athletes will punch control point 200 for two times. After punching the first time, they must proceed along the LEFT side of the corridor. The arena passage is 110 metres long.
    • After this passage, athletes will return to the forest for the final section of their course.
    • At the end, they will punch control point 200 again and head towards the Finish, this time using the RIGHT side of the corridor.
    • It is the athlete’s responsibility to select the correct corridor, both during the arena passage and when finishing the course.
    • If an athlete uses the right-hand corridor (to Finish) during the arena passage, they risk deactivating the SIAC function of their chip. However, if this happens, they can continue their race and punch controls manually in the traditional way.
    • The arena passage will be identified with the pictured sign (see image).
